Politics Network @ Word Alive 2020

Tom Kendall 22 Oct 19

Word Alive is one of the highlights of the year in the Politics Network calendar. This year we are excitedly partnering with the Law Network to explore how Christians are to approach topics such as the state, morality, and the practicalities of legislating in 21st Century Britain.

We will have lawyers Alisdair Henderson and Jonathan Hyde speaking to us on the need to be salt and light in the public square particularly given the increasing polarisation of our society. As party loyalties break down and our political and economic systems are challenged it is vital that Christians understand the relationship between faith and state. As political culture is characterised by self-interest, self-identity, power, and arrogance it is vital that Christians model a gospel of truth, love, humility, and self-sacrifice.

Word Alive is a brilliant forum to explore all these ideas through the teaching of these quality speakers with real world experience. There will also be chances to debate and network with the speakers, other believers, and other students. Together we can support one another in living out a Christian worldview in the public square.

See you there!
